Although I’m not a big college basketball fan, I love watching March Madness!! Being a Colorado Buff student, I’m going to support my Buffaloes this year! It’s actually exciting to hear that the Buffaloes are projected to be in this year’s tournament, considering that they never make it to this level. I did a little research and the last time the Buffs made an appearance in the NCAA tournament was in 2003 (and of course they lost). Also, the Buffs have only won 1 championship in their entire history… and that was in 1940 (so a verrry looooong time ago!).
Last week, the Buffaloes lost to the Big-12’s last place team: Iowa State (even though they beat them in early February 95-69). With this loss, the Buffaloes were on the borderline of ending their season early… until they beat Nebraska on Saturday 67-57. All of the sudden, the Colorado Buffaloes were considered to be in the NCAA tournament BUT in order to secure their spot, they need to do a couple more things! They need to beat Iowa State this Wednesday (03/09) @ 3 pm ET in Kansas City, MO. The winner of this game (hopefully the Buffs) will play Kansas State (# 4 in Big-12) the day after. Kansas State has already entered the NCAA tournament, so it’s the Buffs who have the pressure. Colorado Buffaloes have already beat Kansas State twice this season and we already know that they are capable of beating Iowa state.
For the Buffaloes to succeed, they need to stay CONSISTENT (because this team can play great basketball if they have the right mindset and they can play bad if they don’t).
Let’s go Buffaloes!
